Delivers exceptional customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors, addressing and resolving issue.Job Description:Campus ambassadors greet, assist, and offer guidance to ASU customers as they move across campus. Employees in this role provide a reliable, highly visible, service and safety-oriented presence for staff, students, visitors and faculty.Applicant must be eligible to work in the United States. ASU will not be a sponsor for this position.Position Salary Range:$20.00 per hourEssential Duties:Greet and acknowledge students, staff, visitors, and faculty with a friendly warm greeting, introducing yourself, and presenting a professional image in appearance and in your communication. Utilizes effective communication to convey help and conveys a sense of approachability. Ensures highest quality service delivered to customers for assigned function in accordance with specified guidelines and priorities. Applies knowledge of policies and processes to educate and inform users. Monitors and enforces unauthorized wheels in the Walk Only Zone (WOZ). Educates violators where possible in a positive, non-combative manner. Interacts with the public in situations that can range from answering routine university-related questions. Offers assistance to students, faculty, staff with questions, and direct them to helpful links. Promote pedestrian safety. Perform routine checks of surrounding buildings near each delta during slower periods (non-class changes). Be flexible during daily activities with the ability to change priorities which may include and/or subject to resolution conflict with customers. Monitor activity around assigned station in the Zone. Encourage compliance and behavior change to cyclists and scooters in the WOZ. - Campus Mall Enforcement. Deploy and collect WOZ signage. Help keep emergency access ways clear. Observe and report any damaged ASU property such as bollards, signs, graffiti, etc. Minor cleaning and equipment maintenance of WOZ signs and graphics. Daily use of a computer for attendance and timekeeping. Communicate verbally and in writing. Staff special events and perform other duties as directed by the Program Manager. Drives Arizona State University leased, owned or rented vehicles and carts to various ASU locations to perform work.Desired Qualifications:Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Must be able to tolerate all weather conditions including heat, rain, and cold weather. The majority of the shift will be standing and walking.Department Statement:Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) plays an integral role in support of the development of Arizona State University by managing the parking and commuter options on the four campuses. PTS manages a 24,000+parking inventory system-wide and strongly encourages the use of more environmentally friendly transportation options by subsidizing programs such as intercampus shuttles, carpool, car-sharing, and public transit. These services assist ASU students, faculty, and staff in traveling to, around, and between campuses. PTS also provides ambassador and bike valet services to ensure a culture of safety for all pedestrians navigating the most populated campus areas.
