Job summary

Goshen College is seeking a Student Activities Coordinator to direct campus-wide programming that fosters an inclusive, healthy community. You will supervise the Campus Activities Council and collaborate with Residence Life, Campus Ministries, athletics, and student clubs to plan events and develop student leaders.

The role requires evening and weekend work, with an on-campus apartment and a 65-block meal plan provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with diverse groups
• Ability to plan innovative activities and to creatively market and promote activities and positions
• Ability to work nights, and weekends; balance many tasks simultaneously and work well both independently and cooperatively with others
• Ability to respond to crisis management situations and mental health crises that require engagement with mental health providers
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to write and speak clearly
• Professional demeanor and maturity

Responsibilities

• Plans and oversees major Student Life activities throughout the course of the academic year
• Partners and assists Residence Life, Campus Ministries, student clubs, Athletics, and Intramural Sports with event management
• Consults and works with the Events Office to ensure Student Life programming aligns with the campus events calendar
• Consults with AVI Fresh food service for catering major events on campus
• Creates marketing for student activities to encourage a wide variety of students to attend
• Consults with ITS on technical equipment and student help for campus events
• Manages bookings for outside entertainment brought to campus for events
• Supervises 4-8 student leaders (Campus Activities Council) in planning major campus-wide social events
• Meets weekly with the student leader team to plan events and engage in leadership formation activities
• Meet individually with student leaders, as needed, to provide feedback and guidance
• Participates as a member of the Student Life leadership hiring working group
