Job summary

Georgetown University seeks a Director of Campus Accounting to lead the Campus Accounting Department, overseeing GAAP-compliant financial reporting, audits, general ledger, fund accounting, and internal controls. You will supervise monthly and year-end closes, prepare campus statements and analyses, and ensure policies are current and applied.

Lead a team, communicate with senior administrators, and drive improvement in internal controls and financial standards across the University.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Master degree in Accounting or MBA is desirable.
• CPA required.
• Excellent analytical and written & oral communication skills required, as well as attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct the operation of the Campus Accounting Department, including financial statements reporting, audits, general ledger, fund accounting, procard card reconciliations, and internal controls and compliance.
• Ensure campus GAAP compliance and interpret University financial policies and procedures.
• Lead monthly and year-end close processes and prepare campus financial statements, schedules, and analyses.
• Develop and enforce internal controls over financial reporting and keep policies up-to-date.
• Use queries, spreadsheets, databases and other tools for trend analyses, forecasts, and financial ratios.
• Provide leadership to staff and foster teamwork and cross-training across the CFO Office.
