Job summary

Weber State University seeks tutors for the Ogden Learning Center to assist students in Zoology, Physics, Psychology, and related subjects. Tutoring is offered by appointment or drop-in, with availability set by the tutor.

Training is provided, and three levels of certification lead to pay increases. Lead Tutors may assist the Tutoring Coordinator with center management and staff mentoring; the pool system determines when positions open.

Qualifications

• Must be a WSU student.
• Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
• Strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
• Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
• Must participate in completing Levels I & II of tutor CRLA training

Responsibilities

• Tutor WSU students in the subjects you propose at the Learning Center.
• Tutoring is done on an individual appointment and/or drop-in basis.
• Availability for appointments and/or drop-in hours are determined by the tutor.
• Lead Tutor role with increased pay and responsibilities available contingent on center needs.
• This is a pooled position; hours may include time spent as Learning Assistant in related courses.
