Job summary

The City of New York Mayor's Office is seeking a Special Assistant (MA)-MGRL to join the Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement. You will support the development and execution of engagement initiatives across neighborhoods, coordinating volunteers and events with city agencies.

You will work closely with cross‑agency teams to build scalable programs, map goals, and report on progress, while representing the office at public meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 3+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Build volunteer systems enabling large-scale participation by New Yorkers.
• Develop campaign initiatives with other offices to recruit attendees and partners.
• Map timelines, goals, and metrics to communicate impact of mass participation.
• Coordinate engagement work across the Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement.
• Represent the Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement at public meetings when required.

The Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement (OME) is responsible for strategizing, coordinating, and executing on engagement that reaches the masses of everyday New Yorkers. We engage New Yorkers in shaping policy outcomes, demystifying government, and ensuring that the government remains accountable to serving the people of this great City. Our work is designed as a long-term project - we are building the power of everyday New Yorkers, and we are building a City that works for all of us.

The Problems You'll Solve:

The Campaign Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Building volunteer systems that allow New Yorkers to participate in large-scale, meaningful engagement and events
• Build out campaign initiatives for The Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement by collaborating and liaising with other offices and agencies to develop a strategic, scalable campaign that helps New Yorkers join town halls, trainings, canvases, and other events that forge relationships and leadership development among regular New Yorkers.
• Map out timelines, goals, and metrics to help us communicate how the mass participation of New Yorkers as volunteers can meaningfully impact our city.
• Work across the Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement to bring in all pieces of our engagement work into mass initiatives.
• Represent the Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement at public meetings when required.
• Other duties as required.
