Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Camp Specialty Instructor to design curriculum and lead specialty activities for day camps at Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA. Under the Youth Development Director, you will guide counselors, ensure safety, and deliver engaging experiences for children.

You will supervise activities in areas such as archery, arts and crafts, sports, robotics, and nature, while developing lesson plans that foster growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old (21+ preferred).
• 2+ years of experience working with children in a structured setting.
• Ability to work outdoors and indoors and supervise groups safely.

Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure high-quality day camp programs with excellent participant service.
• Manage site cleanliness and provide a safe environment for students.
• Lead programming on specialized topics to enrich the camp program.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans focused on skill development.
• Provide campers with leadership skills and meaningful, fun activities.
• Report on camper behavior concerns to Youth Development Director.
• Maintain incident reports and stay current with safety standards.
