Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Camp Specialty Instructor to join the McCleskey East Cobb YMCA team. You will design curricula, run specialty activities, and guide counselors to deliver safe, engaging day camp experiences for children.

Ideal candidates are 18+ (21 preferred), have a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years of experience with children, and strong interpersonal and computer skills. Background checks and CPR/First Aid within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with children in a structured setting.
• Background and expertise in a specialty area.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Promote, monitor, evaluate, and ensure day camp programs run smoothly.
• Maintain site cleanliness and safe environment for participants.
• Lead programming focused on specialized topics to enrich camp.
• Develop and implement lesson plans for skill development.
• Provide campers with leadership skills through activities.
• Consult with Youth Development Director on camper behavior concerns.
• Maintain incident/accident paperwork and certifications.
