Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a kitchen cook to cook, serve and maintain the kitchen for rental groups during the off season.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, following health department guidelines and USDA requirements, monitoring temperatures and keeping a clean work area.

Qualifications require 18 years of age or older and 3 years of food service knowledge and/or training; applicants must be able to work with others.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 3 years experience of food service knowledge and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare meals depending on the needs of the group- bake, fry, slice, washing and peeling vegetables, storing food, food prep, and maintaining a clean and tidy work area.
• Follow all health department guidelines and regulations
• Work in harmony with other cooks and food service staff
• Follow USDA requirements
• Follow proper food handling requirements
• Monitor the correct cooking temperatures for food
• Monitor and record temperature charts for all fridges and freezers
• Preparation and service for all meals and snacks, making sure that they are properly prepared, on time, and that there is enough food for the amount of people to be served
• Clean, care for and properly maintain the kitchen and work equipment
• Sweep, mop and general cleaning of kitchen area
• Assist in receiving ,rotating and putting away of all stock

SCHEDULE: Varies, as needed
