Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is hiring part-time Cook’s Apprentices to assist the kitchen staff at our seasonal camp. You’ll work with the full-time team to prepare camp meals, help with dishwashing, and keep the kitchen and lodge clean under the supervision of the Food Services Director.

This role requires a valid Washington State Food Handlers Card, 6+ months related experience or training, and a commitment to food safety.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Washington State Food Handlers Card.
• Six months or more related experience or training preferred.
• Must comply with food safety regulations and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Assists Food Service Director as needed.
• Helps prepare and serve food following food and safety regulations.
• Stores food and supplies, assuring proper rotation.
• Assists in dishwashing, including pots and pans.
• Assists with general kitchen and lodge cleaning.
• Attends kitchen staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
