Job summary

YMCA of the Triangle is seeking a Health Center Receptionist for its overnight camp program. This part-time, non-exempt role supports campers and staff with front-desk duties, phone reception, record-keeping, and basic health center operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with nurses and volunteer doctors to ensure camper safety, maintain confidentiality, and provide excellent service to families and camp staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Active driver’s license and ability to pass MVR background check.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with camp nurses and volunteer doctors to ensure camper safety.
• Develop a working relationship with the health center team.
• Coordinate health care support with camp staff to promote wellness.
• Pull charts during sick calls, log visits, and file records.
• Answer phone calls and communicate with parents effectively.
• Manage health center charges and forward to main office for billing.
• Follow up on required return checkups and arrange off-site appointments.
• Fax prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Serve as secondary health center driver for errands.
• Accompany sick/injured campers or staff to appointments.
• Support health center staff during urgent care needs.
• Assist daily upkeep, cleaning, sanitizing, and general admin duties.
