Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Guest/Group Host at Camp Del Oro in Grass Valley, CA. This part-time, non-exempt, on-call role serves as the primary host for camp guests, coordinating with kitchen and guest services to ensure smooth group experiences.

The host will stay available for group needs, manage communications, and help maintain order and safety during weekends and events, with duties ranging from hospitality to incident response.

Qualifications

• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check to include a DOJ Livescan Fingerprint check.
• High School diploma or equivalent or better.
• Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs and operate basic office equipment.

Responsibilities

• ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE and let the guest staff know where you can be found.
• Check with retreat staff to see if they need assistance.
• Fix and repair problems in a timely manner and inform staff of actions taken.
• Monitor group schedules for special request items.
• Turn off lights and heaters in meeting rooms and lodging areas used by groups.
• Receive groups and introduce yourself at arrival and explain camp rules.
• Document problems or repairs arising from the weekend.
