Job summary

Experimental Aircraft Association Inc. seeks an experienced flight instructor to deliver camper flight sessions, ensuring each roughly 30-minute flight adheres to Part 61 and FAA regulations, the Airmen’s Information Manual, advisory circulars, and EAA policies.

The role requires maintaining camper records, monitoring aircraft condition, and providing high-safety in-flight and ground instruction. Ideal candidates actively instruct, and will support camp programming when flying isn’t possible.

Qualifications

• CFI ASEL certification and current medical certificate required.
• Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and procedures.
• Ability to apply effective instructional techniques in flight and classroom.
• Ability to work under pressure with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure flight lessons follow the EAA Air Academy Curriculum.
• Perform flight instructor duties per FARs and approved Curriculum.
• Maintain camper logbooks and accurate records.
• Monitor aircraft maintenance and inform maintenance personnel of issues.
• Provide flight/ground instruction with safety at the forefront.
• Maintain clean, professional environment on aircraft and grounds.
• Support staff during camp when flying is not possible.
• Assist with pre-camp and post-camp procedures.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
