Job summary

The California-Pacific Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church seeks a Director of Camp Cedar Glen in Julian, CA to lead operations, ministry and program development. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in a comparable position.
• Passion for people, camping, and outdoors.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving with a hospitality focus.
• Ability to manage operating budgets and coordinate administrative processes.
• Ability to promote camp programs within and beyond the United Methodist connection.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily camp operations, ensuring a welcoming, safe experience for guests, staff, and volunteers.
• Maintain camp buildings, grounds, equipment, and utility systems; perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate camp staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate work schedules, timekeeping, and foster a collaborative environment.
• Manage administrative operations, budgets, and records.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and industry standards (e.g., AHCA/ACA, OSHA).
• Prepare reports, inventories, and manuals; conduct seasonal evaluations.
• Develop strategies to market camp programs, increase site utilization, and build church/community partnerships.
