DEAN Adventure Camps, LLC is seeking an Assistant Site Director of Culture & Engagement for the DC area, a full-time on-site role at our summer camp. You will build a positive camp culture, lead themed weeks, and support team development while ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for 40+ seasonal staff and 200+ campers daily.

Working closely with the Site Director, you will coordinate events, communicate with families, and model our core values of compassion, trust, growth, and creativity

Qualifications

• 2 years of summer camp leadership or similar experience.
• Experience mentoring peers, resolving conflicts, and maintaining team morale.
• Ability to manage 40+ staff and serve 200+ campers per week.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Comfort with technology tools like Slack, Google Workspace and Airtable.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive camp culture that fosters a kind, inclusive team environment and strong morale.
• Lead themed weeks and engagement events with decorations, music, and camper activities.
• Support morning assemblies with team spotlights and camper recognition aligned with our values.
• Mentor team members, mediate conflicts, and model calm, inclusive leadership.
• Communicate clearly with 40+ seasonal team members across departments and programs.
• Engage directly with campers during transitions and activities, ensuring safety and positivity.
• Oversee carpool and parent interactions to ensure a welcoming experience and Fridays with special activities.
