Job summary

DEAN Camps seeks a DC Assistant Site Director to lead operations, logistics, and behavior support for a high-energy summer program. This role partners with the Site Director to ensure safety, smooth daily routines, and outstanding camper care.

We hire experienced camp leaders; expect 2+ years in summer camp leadership, mentoring peers, coaching 40+ staff, and managing family communications. Position runs June 14–Aug 13, on-site at 3825 Wisconsin Ave, DC, with competitive weekly pay and paid

Qualifications

• 2 years of summer camp leadership experience serving 200+ children per week.
• Mentor peers, resolve conflicts, and maintain team morale with 40+ staff.
• First Aid & CPR certification and immunization requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in active settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily camp operations and logistics to ensure safety and structure.
• Support family communication with daily updates and inquiries.
• Coach 40+ seasonal team members in real time and reinforce expectations.
• Document camper incidents with empathy and consistency.
• Maintain logs and assist with transitions, activities, and coverage.
