Job summary

The Workout Club is seeking a Camp Counselor to lead youth through engaging weekly camp experiences in a family- and fitness-oriented setting. You’ll foster friendships, supervise daily routines, and ensure safety and cleanliness across camp spaces.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, reliable, and possess at least one year of experience with children, plus CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or the ability to obtain within 90 days).

Qualifications

  • Must be physically fit and mentally alert.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have one year of experience working with children.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Available to work full time Monday–Friday and commit to entire summer season.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of campers through their one-week camp experiences.
  • Develop youth friendships to connect children to their camp community.
  • Complete daily opening and closing procedures and safety logs.
  • Maintain daily written and verbal communication with Camp parents, team members, club members, and Camp Site Director.
  • Communicate camper needs and safety or behavior concerns to appropriate parties.
  • Ensure all camp areas are clean, on brand, and in good repair.
  • Arrange coverage for sick days and communicate planned vacation days before the season begins.

Job Description and Basic Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of campers through their “one week” camp experiences
  • Developing youth friendships to ensure each child is connected to their camp community
  • Completing daily opening and closing procedures, as well as safety logs
  • Daily written and verbal communication with Camp parents, team members, club members, and Camp Site Director
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the specific needs of the campers in your care and communicate safety or behavior concerns with appropriate parties
  • Ensure each area of the club utilized by the camp is on Brand, clean, and in good repair
  • Find coverage for sick days and communicate planned vacation days prior to the start of the season

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • This position requires a person to be physically fit and mentally alert.
  • There may be a need for standing, walking, sitting, lifting, kneeling, reaching, handling, thinking, and reasoning
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • A positive attitude and professional behavior are expected and displayed consistently in all dealings with members and/or fellow Team members
  • Must have one year of experience working with children
  • CPR/First Aid/AED for adults, infants, and children or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of being hired
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Available to work full time Monday-Friday and able to commit to entire summer season
  • Responsible for securing reliable transportation to and from work
  • State Specific Licensing Requirements as applicable
