Job summary

Camp Stein seeks a compassionate community care team member to support campers and staff with mental health, social, and emotional needs. You will review camper files, coordinate with the team, and design inclusive activities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Rabbinic leadership and camp directors to ensure a safe, supportive environment. You’ll work closely with unit heads and counselors, assist with disciplinary issues, and help maintain documentation and parent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in mental health or related areas.
• Experience with residential summer camps is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review camper files and coordinate pre-camp phone calls with the team.
• Review files again before campers' arrival with unit heads and counselors.
• Design modifications to ensure inclusive programming for all campers.
• Support unit heads with discipline, sadness, social and adjustment issues.
• Assist campers with MESSH needs and staff support for challenges.
• Help resolve camper, staff, or senior staff issues as needed.
• Communicate camper issues to leadership and maintain updates with families.
• Observe campers with special needs and document observations.
• Maintain written records and accountability for information gathered.
• Participate in Goldenrod daily meetings and follow-up task division.
• Create behavior contracts for campers who may benefit.
• Model acceptance and understanding for all campers and staff.
• Participate in camp crisis management planning and safety responsibilities.
• Attend administrative meetings and support camp-wide operations.
