Job summary

The Union for Reform Judaism's Greene Family Camp seeks an Assistant Director to help create exceptional summer camp and year-round engagement experiences for campers, families, and staff. This role leads the camp's year-round marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts while supporting camper and staff recruitment, family engagement, and seasonal programming.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Experience in marketing, communications, community engagement, youth development, camping, nonprofit organizations, or a related field.
• Experience creating content and managing communications across digital platforms, including social media, email, and websites.
• Experience using CRM and communications platforms such as CampMinder, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, or similar systems.
• A commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive environments where people of diverse backgrounds and identities feel they belong.
• The ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed, including residing on-site during the summer camp season.

Responsibilities

• Provide Camp Leadership: help advance the camp's mission, support strategic priorities, and strengthen organizational culture.
• Marketing & Communication: create engaging content for social media, email, websites, blogs, photography, and other communications.
• Strengthen Camper, Family & Staff Engagement: assist in recruiting, hiring, and retaining participants, campers, and staff for summer and academic year programs.
• Champion a Safe, Inclusive Community: foster a camp environment where every camper and staff member feels safe, supported, valued, and empowered to thrive.
• During the summer season, serve as Summer Communications Manager by coordinating family communications and supervising seasonal communications staff.
