Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern Territory is seeking staff to lead camp programs for children and adults, including classroom training, tutoring, sports, Bible study, computer programs and specialized activities. Duties include maintaining clean recreational and outdoor areas and fostering a positive, safe environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years’ teaching child development experience, and be able to obtain state licensing background checks; CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
1–2 years’ experience teaching child development programs.
Ability to pass all state licensing background checks.
CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain).
Lifeguard Certification (preferred)
Ropes Course Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

Leads children and adult activities for camp programs, including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, Bible study, computer programs and specialized programs; maintains the cleanliness of the recreational and outdoor activities areas.
Maintains a positive, relaxed atmosphere during activities and promotes encouraging conversation.
Ensures accountability, security and safety of guests participating in outdoor activities; reports accidents to supervisor promptly.
