Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations is seeking an experienced painter to work on-site in Pennsylvania. The role focuses on applying enamel, lacquer, and vinyl finishes to vehicles and related equipment, with capability to handle camouflage and specialty coatings.

Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, adjusting spray equipment, interpreting technical manuals, and ensuring safety standards. A second shift may be required based on workload.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of vehicle painting experience.
• High school Diploma/GED or equivalent training and experience.
• Second shift may be assigned depending on workload and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Spray paints vehicles and related equipment using enamel, lacquer, and vinyl coatings.
• Apply specialty coatings such as crinkle finishes, nonskid, rubber coatings, and fluorescent touch-up paint.
• Create camouflage finishes by spraying multiple colors in irregular patterns on exterior surfaces.
• Mix, thin, and adjust paints to achieve proper finish and thickness.
• Maintain spray tanks, adjust spray guns, and monitor air pressure during operations.
• Read and interpret technical manuals to determine paint types, colors, and markings.
