Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations is seeking a skilled painter to work on-site in Pennsylvania, applying enamel, lacquer, and vinyl coatings to vehicles and related equipment. The role includes applying specialty coatings, mixing paints, operating electrostatic spray systems, and ensuring surface preparation meets specifications.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of vehicle painting experience and a high school diploma or GED, with apprenticeship or equivalent training.

• 3–5 years of vehicle painting experience required.
• High school Diploma/GED with apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Spray paints vehicles and related equipment using enamel, lacquer, and vinyl coatings.
• Apply specialty coatings such as crinkle finishes, nonskid, rubber coatings, and fluorescent touch-up paint.
• Spray camouflage finishes on exterior surfaces with multiple colors.
• Mix, thin, and adjust paints with dryers or thinning agents for proper finish and thickness.
• Read and interpret TMs, DMWRs, TBs and prints to determine paint types, colors, and markings.
• Operate and maintain electrostatic spray equipment and handle nozzle/air pressure adjustments.
• Follow safety regulations and provide guidance to lower-grade employees.
