Job summary

Meta’s Reality Lab seeks a Camera System Engineer to own the design and delivery of advanced sensing and illuminator modules for next-gen AR/VR devices. Lead imaging modules from exploration to ramp, coordinating cross-functional teams and offshore vendors to ensure seamless system integration.

You will define module requirements (frame rate, resolution, size, power, cost) and drive DFMEA/PFMEA, with up to 20% travel to vendors and sites, delivering high-quality modules for consumer electronics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Optical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
• 6+ years of experience with optical sensing modules for consumer electronics.
• End-to-end ownership of camera-module projects and collaborations with offshore vendors.
• Experience with packaging, assembly, test methods for camera/illumination modules.
• Familiarity with CMOS image sensors, thermal sensors, and illuminators.
• Experience bringing an NTI project to NPI and performing DFMEA/PFMEA.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for camera and imaging modules as primary DRI.
• Coordinate with architecture, sensor, mechanical, electrical, optical, and validation teams.
• Own module design from exploration through ramp and qualification to mass production.
• Define detector/module requirements (frame rate, resolution, size, power, cost).
• Work with offshore vendors and module integrators to bring up and troubleshoot.
• Conduct DFMEA/PFMEA and lead optical testing of the module.
• Analyze build data to validate design and drive iterative improvements.
• Maintain detailed documentation and report progress to leadership.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to vendors/sites.
