Job summary

Ford is seeking a Camera Software Engineering Manager to own end-to-end delivery of in-vehicle camera features, spanning IVI software and embedded firmware. You will coordinate across Android, firmware, hardware/SoC, security, V&V, quality, and manufacturing teams to ship live video, image capture, ML-powered features, and object-detection use cases.

You will define requirements, drive a technical roadmap, and ensure on-schedule releases while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams
• Familiarity with camera/video software
• Experience with ML inference and computer-vision workflows
• Solid Linux knowledge and system programming
• Experience with at least one stack side and fluency on the other (IVI: Kotlin/Java, AAOS, Jetpack Compose, JNI; Embedded OS: C/C++, Linux, RTOS Zephyr, bootloaders, drivers)
• Experience with device-to-device/vehicle communication protocols (UDS, automotive Ethernet)
• Proven CI/CD, automated testing and code-quality gates
• Cross-functional collaboration with V&V, QA, systems engineering

Responsibilities

• Own camera feature delivery end-to-end from concept to production release
• Define product requirements, coordinate releases, and milestones
• Translate requirements into a coherent technical roadmap for IVI app and embedded firmware
• Define, track, and communicate milestones, dependencies, and risks
• Lead interface contracts between IVI and camera firmware; design streaming pipeline and latency optimizations
• Guide integration of ML/vision capabilities and device communications across vehicle networks
• Partner with V&V, QA, and systems teams on test strategies and acceptance criteria
• Drive security concerns (secure boot, TLS, provisioning) and OTA/production readiness
• Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders
