Job summary

H2ajobs seeks a ranch hand to care for cattle on the range during the calving season. You will be on call up to 24 hours per day, seven days a week, and spend most workdays on the range.

Duties include helping newborn calves stand and nurse, monitoring health, and recording calf births. You will administer minor medical care as needed, assist with vaccination and handling, and work with hay/feeding operations and water provisioning.

Qualifications

• Experience w ith calving and cattle on range is preferred.
• Ability to ride and tend horses for safety of worker and livestock.
• Basic emergency minor medical care for cattle during calving season.

Responsibilities

• Attend cattle on the range during calving season.
• Provide emergency minor medical care to sick or injured cows.
• Attend calving cows and newborn calves, ensure they stand and nurse.
• Maintain records of calves born and feed/water provisioning.
• Assist with hay and grain handling and monitoring forage.
