Job description

Caltrans Landscape Maintenance Worker

Under supervision, will operate specified vehicles requiring a Class C driver's license. The incumbent will work individually or with a crew performing tasks related to landscape maintenance. Responsibilities include maintaining functional and landscape plantings, performing weed control, graffiti removal, homeless removal, and other related work. The incumbent may also be assigned duties typically performed by a Caltrans Highway Maintenance Worker as part of their normal duties.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Landscape Maintenance Worker exam. If you do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) or are new to state civil service employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
