Job summary

Indiana Members Credit Union is seeking a Call Center Loan Officer to process and close loan applications and solicit lending products for members. The ideal candidate excels in strong verbal communication and provides exceptional member service.

Responsibilities include interviewing members for loans by phone, email, or mail; evaluating creditworthiness; preparing closing documents; processing credit card applications; and cross-selling other credit union products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6–12 months of consumer lending experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Familiar with credit union core system and ancillary systems.
• Knowledge of consumer lending guidelines/policies and regulations.

PURPOSE: The Call Center Loan Officer is responsible for processing and closing loan applications along with soliciting lending products for members. We are looking for an individual knowledgeable in consumer lending and excels in strong verbal communication. This position will provide exceptional member service and assist in meeting the needs of each member they come in contact with.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 6-12 months of Consumer Lending Experience
• Excellent Communication skills – verbal and written
• Proficient with Credit Union core system and all ancillary systems
• Knowledgeable of all consumer lending guidelines/policies and regulations

REGISTRATIONS

This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Lending System (NMLS) and registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates as needed. Must be registered and approved by the NMLS registry within sixty days of hire date. Failure to register or maintain a current registry, or any criminal activity that would bar continued participation as a MLO may result in disciplinary action, up to and including te rmination of employment.
