Job summary

Celebree is seeking a dedicated Teacher's Aide to support before- and after-school care programs. The role involves assisting the Program Director and School Age Teacher to provide a safe, engaging learning environment for school-age children, while upholding Caliday mission and values.

The ideal candidate has some childcare experience and strong communication with families, staff, and the school community. Training and growth opportunities are available within the Caliday family.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare field preferred.
• Ability to work with children using Conscious Discipline and positive behavior approaches.

Responsibilities

• Assists with managing the program space and ensures compliance with regulations and policies.
• Provides a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors.
• Supports implementation of age-appropriate activities based on Caliday curriculum.
• Supervises children during activities and assists with behavior guidance.
• Communicates with parents about updates and concerns.
• Maintains open communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures classroom appearance, cleanliness, and safety are maintained.
• Identifies opportunities or problems and collaborates to resolve them.
• Keeps up with yearly Continuing Education Credits.

Requirements

The Caliday Teacher's Aide works directly with the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; assisting in the implementation of activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.

Essential Functions

• Assists with the management of the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Assists with the implementation of activities that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open and effective communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and/or Program Director to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

Education/Experience
