Job summary

Celebree in Towson, MD, is seeking a dedicated before-and-after care assistant to support the Program Director and School Age Teacher. You will help run activities, uphold Caliday's mission and create a safe, engaging learning environment for elementary-aged children.

Responsibilities include keeping the space compliant with MSDE-OCC regulations, welcoming families, updating the Parent Table, supervising children with Conscious Discipline, communicating with parents, and maintaining cleanliness

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have energy and passion for working with elementary-aged children.
• CPR and First Aid training certificate and Basic Health and Safety training certificate requested.
• Strong communication, flexibility and ability to work in a team environment required.

Position Summary

To assist the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; implementing activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.

Essential Functions:

• § Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• § Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• § Assists in the maintenance of an attractive and informative Parent Table that is updated regularly.
• § Implements activities that are age-appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum; manages effective classroom management.
• § Assists in the supervision of children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• § Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• § Maintains open and effective communication with the team, parents and school community.
• § Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
• § Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and Program Director to resolve.
• § Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

Requirements

Education/Experience:
