Job summary

AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Calibration Technician for the 2nd shift to support the gage management system and ensure measurement calibration across all manufacturing lines. Your responsibilities include performing calibrations, verifications, adjustments, troubleshooting measurement issues, and maintaining detailed records.

You will assist with gage setup, participate in MSA studies, and help train associates in proper gage use and maintenance.

Qualifications

6 months to 1 year of automotive manufacturing experience.
Two-year technical training in calibration, metrology, gage repair, precision measurement, quality inspection, or a related technical field is preferred.
Associates Degree in a technical field is preferred.
Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 & ISO 17025 certifications.

Responsibilities

Calibrate, verify, adjust, troubleshoot, and minor repair of dimensional, mechanical, torque, electrical, pressure, temperature, mass/scales, and other measurement equipment.
Complete calibrations per procedures, specs, standards, and acceptance criteria.
Troubleshoot gage measurement issues and resolve measurement-system problems affecting production.
Learn and support assembly-line measuring stations and inline measurement systems.
Maintain repair and calibration records in the Gage Management System.
Assist in gage setup and participate in MSA studies (Gage R&R, SPC).
Prepare detailed reports for management.
