Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Instrument & Electric Technician to calibrate, maintain, and repair scientific instrumentation in critical client environments.

You will follow GMP/cGMP concepts, work with DCS/PLC systems, and coordinate with contractors during maintenance. This role requires physical work, test equipment use, and proficiency with CMMS and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with at least 4 years of job-related experience.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, global regulatory manufacturing guidance, and process/cleaning validation in drug substance pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience in GLP or GMP; strong knowledge of USDA and EU regulatory systems.
  • GDP and Cleanroom experience preferred.
  • Experience using CMMS system.
  • Meet physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs+ and standing/walking.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Strong communication skills and working knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, and maintain equipment, systems, and controls.
  • Operate test equipment including multimeters and probes.
  • Coordinate removal of equipment during scheduled maintenance.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Assist with development of equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and test control loops including tuning and calibration of controllers.
  • Configuration and repair maintenance on DCS and PLC systems.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Laboratory Instrument & Electric Technician, you will calibrate, maintain, and complete the minor repairs of scientific instrumentation.

This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

What You’ll Do:
  • Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and take care of equipment, systems, and controls.
  • Operate test equipment. This includes multimeters and probes.
  • Coordinate the removal of equipment needing basic repairs during scheduled maintenance periods.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment.
  • Responsible for locating part sources and estimating costs.
  • Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Assist with the development of equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while exercising discretion.
  • Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision.
  • Understand the general concepts of ISO 9001 and GMP production.
  • Maintenance and repair of electrical systems; transmitters, motors, breakers, drives, etc.
  • Installation, Repair, and Calibration of a variety of Instrumentation (Pressure, Temperature, Flow, and Level) used in Process Manufacturing and Laboratory Areas.
  • Installation, Repair, and Calibration of Control Valves, Actuators, and positioners.
  • Maintenance, Repair, and Calibration of Electronic Scales and Process Feeder Systems.
  • Troubleshoot and test control loops including tuning and calibration of controllers.
  • Configuration and repair maintenance on DCS and PLC systems.

What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with at least 4 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Must have an appropriate license or certification where required by law.
  • Required- Knowledge of cGMP, applicable global regulatory manufacturing guidance, and the process/cleaning validation in drug substance pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Required- Laboratory and/or manufacturing experience and experience in GLP or GMP is required. Strong knowledge of USDA and EU regulatory systems.
  • GDP and Cleanroom experience preferred.
  • Experience using CMMS system.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
