Job summary

DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH, seeks a Calibration Technician to join the Quality team in a Medical Device R&D environment. This high-visibility role impacts project schedules and success, from calibration entry to data analysis and procedure development.

The ideal candidate brings 1–3 years in a related setting, familiarity with ESD calibration and test equipment, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an office or technology-related environment.
  • Experience with ESD calibration and electronic measurement equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 and FDA QSRs a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Enter measurement and test equipment into the calibration program per procedures.
  • Maintain calibration information database with equipment specifications and accuracy.
  • Maintain Calibration History records and associated files.
  • Coordinate calibrations with internal personnel and contract labs.
  • Perform in-house calibrations following calibration procedures and documentation.
  • Initiate paperwork for equipment found to be out of limits or missing.
  • Gather equipment due for calibration and return upon completion.
  • Develop and maintain in-house calibration procedures and spreadsheets.

Job description

Research, design and development engineering makes DEKA a hot spot for creating innovative solutions and advanced technologies.DEKA R&D has an immediate opening for a Calibration Technician to work on the Quality team in a modern dynamic Medical Device Research and Development environment. This is a high visibility role with a significant impact on the schedules and success of projects.

How you will make an impact:
  • Enter measurement and test equipment into the calibration program per procedures
  • Maintain the calibration information database with equipment specifications, accuracy, and other information relevant to the equipment calibration program
  • Maintain Calibration History records and associated files
  • Interact with internal personnel and contract calibration laboratories to coordinate calibrations
  • Perform in-house calibrations following calibration procedures and documentation
  • Initiate paperwork and notify personnel of equipment found to be out of acceptable limits or missing
  • Gather equipment due for calibration and return upon completion
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of in-house calibration procedures
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of spreadsheets and formulas to aid in analysis of calibration data
  • Provide engineering analysis and guidance for metrology issues
  • Ad hoc requests
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 1-3 years of experience in an office or technology-related environment
  • Must have experiencewith ESD calibration, and electronic measurement equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, flow meters, digital thermometers, balances, pressure gages, mechanical measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth gages, torque wrenches, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 and -2
  • Experience in a Medical device development and manufacturing environment, knowledge of FDA's Quality System Regulations (QSR's), ISO 13485 and other medical device industry preferred
  • A degree in an engineering discipline is preferred but not required
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician preferredbut not required
