Job summary

Safran Aerosystems Oxygen Systems US in Lancaster, NY seeks a Calibration Technician with 2–3 years in industrial calibration to join the quality organization. You will develop calibration testing procedures, collect and document data, and support auditors.

This full-time role requires an Associate degree and strong math, reading schematics, and communication skills. On-site work with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in calibration, engineering tech, or quality.
  • 2–3 years industrial calibration experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Ability to read specifications and schematics and troubleshoot.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail; teamwork with auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop calibration testing procedures with engineers.
  • Identify and correct measurement errors quickly.
  • Record data and maintain calibration database (as-found & as-left).
  • Train subordinates, order parts, and research calibration advances.
  • Support auditors with documentation and processes.

Must be capable of developing calibration testing procedures, in cooperation with the requesting engineer, for each piece of equipment based on technical specifications and end use.o Some equipment is located off-site.2. Measurement errors must be quickly identified and corrected.3. Instruments that require inspection and repair may be of an acoustical, chemical, electrical, fluid, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, or thermodynamic nature.4. Compile, measure and record data (as-found & as-left) from each instrument, and maintain the associated calibration database.5. Additional tasks may include training subordinates, ordering replacement parts for faulty equipment, and researching/instituting advances in calibration techniques (such as but not limited to Cpk).6. This position emphasizes healthy customer relationships, positive team-work attitudes, and full cooperation with auditorsJob RequirementsEducation -Required – Calibration, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Quality, or Systems Engineering; Associate of Applied Science, Engineering Technologies degree, 2-year vocational or equivalent education/experiencePreferred - Calibration Engineering Technology Associate of Applied Science or Calibration Technician Certification ProgramExperience -Required – 2 to 3 years in industrial or manufacturing calibration experiencePreferred – 5+ years in industrial/manufacturing calibration experience, with some pneumatic calibration experienceSpecial Knowledge/Skills -Required• Proficient with Windows based PC and Microsoft Office Suite• Read, interpret and understand specifications and schematics• Ability to troubleshoot• Self-driven, organized, critical thinker, and high attention to detail• Ability to communicate well verbally and through written reports/procedures• Understanding of NIST traceabilityPreferred• Understanding of pneumatics (pressure & flow), electrical (DC & AC), and forces• Oxygen safety training• Aptitude for math, technical writing, and advanced knowledge of computers (i.e. serial communications, setting up drivers and applications)Listed above are the ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of this job classification.
