Job summary

RTX is seeking an intern to assist with calibrations on electrical and mechanical equipment at our US facility in Wilson, NC. You will shadow technicians, prepare tools, and use calibration software to record data and reports.

Learn metrology basics, operate precision test equipment, and understand traceability to standards like NIST, ISO, and NADCAP while collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in a STEM major.
• U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee/asylee).
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Lab coursework or project work related to electronics or mechanical measurement.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op or related work experience.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Assist with calibrations on electrical and mechanical equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, and micrometers under supervision.

• Support troubleshooting and basic repair activities by preparing tools, reviewing documentation, and shadowing technicians.

• Use calibration management software for data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.

• Maintain lab organization, housekeeping, equipment inventory, and calibration records.

• Perform lab safety and quality control checks in accordance with internal policies and applicable standards.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
