Job summary

JM Test Systems in Odessa, TX, is seeking a Calibration Lab Technician I to ensure instruments leaving our lab perform to spec. You'll work in our in-house metrology lab and support onsite calibration at customer sites, applying established procedures and documenting results.

This entry-level role welcomes a math-oriented problem-solver with attention to detail. Training is provided by senior staff, and you will grow your skills across electrical, dimensional, physical, mechanical, and optical

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Comfort with general math, algebra, statistics, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow calibration procedures; able to work independently after training.
• Strong communication and customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to travel for onsite work with a valid drivers license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in lab, plant, and outdoor settings.
• Preferred: Associates degree or technical/military training in measurement science or electronics.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and certify instruments to meet standards.
• Analyze data to spot out-of-tolerance conditions and correct.
• Prepare reports and certificates for customers.
• Maintain organized work and complete tasks on schedule.
• Grow technical skills and help develop procedures.
• Maintain safe, clean workspace and transport equipment safely.
• Support onsite work and represent JM Test Systems.
