Job summary

LER TechForce in Michigan is seeking a Calibration Engineer to calibrate engines for North America and global markets. You will complete engine calibration per procedures to meet emission, fuel economy, power, drivability and OBD targets and manage calibration schedules to hit development deadlines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 1+ year calibration experience, strong programming with MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years experience in engine calibration.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Understanding of internal combustion engine theory/practice.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience investigating technical issues and creating effective technical solutions.
  • Emission, bench, drivability or OBD calibration experience with conventional or hybrid powertrains.
  • Experience calibrating engine controls for markets outside the US (Japan, Europe, China, etc.).
  • Experience with Model-Based Design or Calibration processes.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, VBA, etc.
  • Proficiency in project management tools.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/C/C++ programming languages.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Understanding of US and other markets emission/OBD regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration of engine controls for North America and global markets.
  • Complete engine calibration to meet emission, fuel economy, power and drivability targets.

Job description

  • Calibration of engine controls for North America and global markets.
  • Complete engine calibration in accordance with procedures to meet regulations and other performance targets (emission, fuel economy, power, drivability and OBD).
  • Prepare and manage calibration and resource schedule to meet development deadlines.
  • Test preparation, data collection, data analysis, and technical report creation on a regular basis.
  • Build successful relationships with calibration technician group.
  • Conduct vehicle testing and development under extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, high altitude).
  • Complete required internal training necessary for job execution (Technical, Driving, etc.). Perform software logic and value confirmation activities.
What you'll need to be successful:
  • A Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering discipline
  • Experience in engine calibration (1+ years)
  • Excellent driving record
  • Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory/practice
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience investigating technical issues and creating effective technical solutions
  • Emission, bench, drivability or OBD calibration experience in conventional and/or hybrid powertrain
