Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of our partner, is seeking a Calibration Engineer based in the United States. You will calibrate, test, and troubleshoot advanced MR medical imaging systems during installation and upgrade activities, becoming a subject matter expert after training.

The role blends engineering, field service, and customer interaction in a healthcare setting. You’ll travel to customer sites across the U.S., primarily around Fort Wayne, IN, with up to 50% overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Alternative: high school diploma with 4+ years of service experience in electronics.
• Experience working with internal and external customers in a technical service role.
• Ability to diagnose complex equipment issues and implement solutions.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and work onsite at customer facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead MR calibration, testing, and troubleshooting on assigned systems.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Calibration Engineer based in the United States.

This role is responsible for calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting advanced MR medical imaging systems during installation and upgrade activities.

You'll become a subject matter expert in MR calibration after completing specialized technical training and hands-on development.

The position combines engineering expertise, field service, customer interaction, and problem-solving in a highly technical healthcare environment.

You'll serve as a primary customer-facing representative throughout the calibration process, helping ensure systems perform reliably and meet expectations.

The role offers opportunities to support new product introductions, resolve complex equipment issues, and contribute to service excellence.

You'll work with regional and national technical teams while operating with a high degree of independence in the field.

The position is centered around the Fort Wayne, Indiana area and includes significant travel to customer sites across the United States.

Accountabilities

• Lead the calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and completion of assigned MR systems and new product introductions with limited supervision.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for MR calibration activities, ensuring installations and upgrades are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Act as the primary customer-facing contact throughout the calibration phase, maintaining clear communication and driving a positive customer experience.
• Proactively communicate calibration progress and system status with account and internal teams, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Maintain calibration tools and test equipment, ensuring equipment remains properly maintained and within required calibration standards.
• Complete service documentation and administrative activities accurately and within established timelines.
• Use established escalation processes and collaborate with regional and national technical resources to develop and implement corrective action plans.
• When calibration assignments are not scheduled, support local field service teams with service calls, preventive maintenance, and field modification activities.
• Provide technical guidance, assistance, and training to less experienced MR field engineers when needed.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, organization, responsiveness, and customer focus while working independently at healthcare facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related technical discipline; military technical training may also qualify.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma or GED combined with at least four years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
• Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external customers in a technical, service, or solution-oriented environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose complex equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing schedules, priorities, documentation, and customer commitments effectively.
• Familiarity with web-based applications and Microsoft Office products.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple field assignments and changing priorities.
• Experience working with project managers, reading equipment schematics or blueprints, and soldering is advantageous.
• Adaptability and strong communication skills, particularly when interacting with customers and cross-functional technical teams.
• Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
• Willingness to work after hours and occasional weekends when critical customer or system issues require support.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 50%, depending on business needs and geographic coverage.
• Ability to work onsite at customer locations, including willingness to support the Fort Wayne, Indiana area and travel beyond the local region.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 35 pounds independently and perform physical activities including bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and prolonged sitting or standing.
• Ability to reach above and below shoulder level and demonstrate sufficient neck flexibility and hand and finger dexterity for field service activities.
• Appropriate visual capabilities, including color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
• For items exceeding 50 pounds without lifting assistance, willingness and ability to seek assistance from another employee.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
