Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Calibration Coordinator for a contractual role in the Metro Detroit area. The role involves coordinating and supporting test vehicle fleet operations and equipment readiness, troubleshooting issues, and acting as a liaison between calibration engineers and technicians.

The position requires 3-5 years of related experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience supporting engineering, calibration, testing, fleet operations, or related technical functions.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Experience working with vehicles, testing equipment, or calibration instruments.
• Ability to maintain detailed documentation and records.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support test vehicle fleet operations and equipment readiness.
• Troubleshoot and help resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Act as a liaison between calibration engineers and technicians to ensure testing needs are met.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and team equipment usage.
• Track and manage vehicle and equipment availability for planned testing activities.
• Assist in organizing and planning test trips for calibration teams.
• Coordinate logistics, vehicle readiness, and equipment preparation prior to testing events.
• Provide onsite support during test activities as needed to help ensure planned objectives are completed.
• Document test results, accomplishments, and lessons learned to improve future testing efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to test planning and execution.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of calibration-related instruments, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate calibration schedules with internal teams and third-party service providers.
• Track calibration records, certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Investigate and help resolve calibration failures or out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Support planning and scheduling activities related to calibration vehicles and development programs.
• Ensure all calibrated equipment meets applicable regulatory, industry, and internal standards.
• Support internal and external audits by providing calibration records and documentation.
• Monitor function development and calibration status, proactively identifying upcoming deadlines and overdue activities.
• Maintain traceability and documentation required for quality assurance programs.
• Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for calibration processes and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings focused on improving testing, calibration, and maintenance efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Support implementation of best practices across calibration and fleet management activities.

• Experience working in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment.
