Job summary

The Town of Knightdale’s Police Department is seeking certified law enforcement professionals to join a CALEA‑accredited agency committed to safety and community partnerships. Officers will perform patrols, investigations, and public interactions, upholding core values of professionalism and integrity.

Candidates must meet NC standards, possess a valid license, and be prepared for 12.25‑hour shifts in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard high school and completion of advanced courses/seminars in police work.
• Some experience as a certified police officer and medical responder; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Possession of NC driver's license and police certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies in vehicles and on foot.
• Conduct criminal investigations including interviewing suspects, victims and witnesses, collecting evidence, and documenting actions.
• Enforce criminal and traffic laws; make custodial arrests; advise arrestees of rights.
• Serve warrants and respond to medical alarms; perform rescue operations as needed.
• Direct traffic, report hazardous conditions, and participate in community engagement and outreach.
