Job Description And Duties

Effective July 1, 2025 in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 30, 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

CCHCS seeks to fill a Permanent/Full-time CalAIM Pharmacist I position in Medical Services – Central Fill Pharmacy.

Under the direction of the Medical Services, Pharmacy Services Operations and Informatics Pharmacist II, the Pharmacist I performs professional pharmaceutical duties related to informatics and clinical use of medications and the establishment and maintenance of billing process to Medi-Cal. The Pharmacist I assists pharmacy support staff and acts as a lead over Pharmacy Technicians. The Pharmacist I performs pharmaceutically related Electronic Health Record System (EHRS) duties as required.

This position is located in Central Fill Pharmacy, Medical Services, which provides safe, effective and efficient health care to patients within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s 35 institutions. The Central Pharmacy dispenses prescriptions to both inpatient and outpatient settings and provides clinical pharmacy services where necessary. Pharmaceutical care is provided to each prison by the local staff of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through all levels of patient care (inpatient to ambulatory).
