California Correctional Health Care Services in Folsom, CA, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations at Folsom State Prison. Under Pharmacist-in-Charge supervision, you will assist in preparing medication orders, coordinating the medication supply chain, and maintaining records and inventory.

You will need to pass the Pharmacy Technician exam to obtain list eligibility before applying, as per the Memorandum of Understanding and PLP 2025 implementation.

Job Description And Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 20, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist-in-Charge (Pharmacy Services Manager or Pharmacist II) and the professional supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs nondiscretionary tasks and technical duties that are part of pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Technician assists in preparing medication orders; coordinating the medication supply chain; and maintaining records and medication inventory in accordance with policies, laws, and regulations.
