Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a friendly bakery clerk to greet guests, prepare and display baked goods, and maintain product freshness in a fast-paced store environment.

You will assist with cake decoration, labeling, and color mixing, while ensuring cleanliness and proper rotation of stock. This role requires physical ability to lift and stand for extended periods, and provides opportunities to work closely with management and guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a polite, friendly manner.
• Prepare product for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging and labeling).
• Maintain product level, quality and freshness.
• When requested perform bakery clerk functions.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area and sales area.
• Properly cleans work area, couplers and decorating bags.
• Maintain the organization of the freezer, including proper rotation of product.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor.
• Keep supply area neat, clean and tidy at all times.
• Rotate icings and read dates on icings.
• Use cake manual as reference material.
• Write on cakes.
• Mix colors according to color chart.
• Masters the use of the airbrush.
• Use cake production sheet.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the cake section of the bakery.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Performs Front Porch duties to ensure guest arrival standard is maintained.
• Announce specials and sale info on the PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
