Job summary

Lowes Foods in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Bakery Clerk to greet guests, help with bakery items and keep the case stocked and clean. You will handle decorating tasks, color mixing, labeling and general sanitation, while delivering friendly customer service.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods and work well with a team. This is a part-time position at our bakery department with opportunities to assist in various duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests politely and warmly.
• Prepare bakery products for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, labeling).
• Maintain product level, quality and freshness.
• Perform bakery clerk tasks as needed.
• Maintain sanitation in coolers, freezers, prep and sales areas.
• Clean work area, tools and decorating bags.
• Organize freezer and rotate stock by variety.
• Relay guest requests to management.
• Report temperature to supervisor.
• Keep supply area neat and tidy.
• Rotate icings and manage dates; clean buckets.
• Refer to cake production manual.
• Write on cakes.
• Mix colors per color chart.
• Operate airbrush.
• Use cake production sheets.
• Achieve cake section sales and shrink targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist with front porch guest arrival standards.
• Announce specials over PA system.
• Assist receiving and storage.

Overview

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare product for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging and labeling).
• Maintain product level, quality and freshness.
• When requested perform bakery clerk functions.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area and sales area.
• Properly cleans work area, couplers and decorating bags.
• Maintain the organization of the freezer, including proper rotation of product according to variety.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor.
• Keeps supply area neat, clean and tidy at all times.
• Properly rotates icings (including how to read dates of icings) and scrapes down buckets.
• Use cake manual as reference material.
• Write on cakes.
• Properly mix colors according to color chart.
• Masters the use of the airbrush.
• Use cake production sheet.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the cake section of the bakery.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Performs Front Porch duties to ensure “guest arrival” standard is maintained.
• Announce specials and sale info on the PA system.
