Job summary

McKeever’s Price Chopper is seeking a Cake Decorator to design, decorate, and prepare cakes and desserts that meet customer requests and store standards. You will bring creativity to celebrations and everyday treats while delivering friendly service in a fast-paced bakery.

Key responsibilities include decorating cakes and cupcakes, fulfilling custom orders on time, maintaining clean workstations, labeling products, and staying current with seasonal designs and trends.

Qualifications

• Experience in cake decorating or bakery production is required.
• Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for design.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for custom orders.

Position Overview:

As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for designing, decorating, and preparing cakes and desserts to meet customer requests and company standards. From birthdays and weddings to everyday treats, your work will help turn sweet moments into cherished memories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Decorate cakes, cupcakes, and desserts with precision and creativity according to customer orders and display standards
• Take and fulfill custom cake orders accurately and on time
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, tools, and equipment
• Package, label, and stock finished bakery products for sale
• Ensure proper rotation and quality of products in the display case
• Maintain awareness of current design trends and seasonal offerings
• Assist with general bakery production and support team members as needed
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to bakery-related inquiries

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Prior experience in cake decorating or bakery production required
• Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for design
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for custom orders
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Friendly, professional demeanor with strong customer service skills
• Willing to obtain a food handler permit (assistance provided by McKeever’s)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods (4–8 hour shifts)
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbsn
• Repetitive use of hands and wrists for piping, frosting, and decorating
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, food-handling environment
