Cake Decorator

Job Summary

Job Purpose: Produces high-quality decorated items and baked goods according to the company’s standard product offerings. Decorates cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items. Assists in daily bakery operations. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent, compliant, and appealing products and service. Embraces diversity and supports an inclusive environment by respecting team members' backgrounds and experiences.

Essential Responsibilities

1. SERVICE (40%): Create a welcoming environment, ensure product availability, offer samples, assist customers, fulfill requests, decorate products to satisfaction, and use decoration skills effectively.
2. FINANCIAL (40%): Manage daily tasks, process merchandise, ensure product quality and freshness, stock and rotate inventory, reduce waste, and maintain food safety standards.
3. LEADERSHIP (10%): Promote teamwork, guide and empower team members, and communicate effectively.
4. COMPLIANCE/SAFETY (10%): Ensure safety and sanitation standards, food safety regulations, report hazards, and promote a safety culture.

Qualifications

Required: High School diploma or GED, English proficiency, 18+ years old, legal authorization to work in the U.S., successful background and drug screening, customer service skills, basic math, operation of bakery equipment, Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain within 180 days).

Environmental Factors

Position involves standing, walking, manual dexterity, exposure to various working conditions, safety risks with equipment, and lifting requirements. Personal protective equipment and safety protocols are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old
• Ability to travel at least 80% (for Floater role)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently

Additional Duties

• Provide excellent guest service, maintain product presentation, assist with orders, operate equipment, keep work area safe and clean, report theft or safety issues, and perform other duties as assigned.
