BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR (Finance)

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all quality assurance standards. Minimum qualifications:

• Retail experience
• Bakery or cake decorating experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired qualifications:

• Second language skills (speaking, reading, or writing)
• Create a welcoming environment for customers
• Knowledge of products and ability to respond to inquiries and suggest items
• Offer samples and prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests
• Recommend bakery products to customers
• Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and use bakery equipment properly
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory merchandise
• Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers
• Maintain awareness of inventory and stock conditions
• Adhere to health, safety, and civil regulations
• Follow all merchandising, customer service, safety, and loss prevention protocols
• Practice safety and report unsafe conditions or incidents
