Job summary

Lowes Foods in Sanford, NC is seeking a friendly bakery clerk to welcome guests, assist with product prep, labeling, and shelf maintenance, and help ensure fresh, high-quality bakery items.

You will rotate icings, assist with cake decorating, keep the area clean, and support management with guest service, specials announcements, and occasional front-end duties. This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests politely and provide friendly service.
• Prepare products for sale, including icing, decorating, pricing, packaging and labeling.
• Maintain product quality and freshness.
• Perform bakery clerk functions as needed.
• Maintain sanitation in the cooler, prep area and sales floor.
• Rotate icings and manage storage areas.
• Follow cake production sheets and read the cake manual.
• Communicate guest requests and temperature breakdowns to management.
• Announce specials and sales information over the PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
