Job summary

Dairy Queen is seeking a cake decorator at our La Feria location to create cake products that meet quality standards and delight customers. You will decorate with icing, gel, edible images, and letterings, and help maintain a clean, organized cake area throughout your shift.

The role requires decorating skills, customer service excellence, and the ability to work quickly in a busy restaurant. Prior portfolio samples are helpful; a cake decorator certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience with cake decorating using gel, icing, air brush, edible images.
• Cake decorator certification strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-volume restaurant and stay fast under pressure.
• Strong coordination to reproduce drawings from images.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and decorate cake products according to customer specifications.
• Properly and safely operate and maintain cake and soft serve equipment.
• Maintain an adequate inventory of decorated cakes and back-up stock.
• Keep display freezer full with attractive cake varieties.
• Conduct sampling and actively sell products.
• Take and fill customer cake orders in a professional manner.
• Be pleasant and alert to customer needs and work as a team.
• Clean work area, organize, stock needed items and keep area sanitary.
• Wash counters, tables, restrooms, trash receptacles; assist with cleaning tasks.
• Inform supervisor promptly of problems or unusual matters of significance.
