Job Summary

We are looking for a Cagewash Technician II for our Insourcing Solutions Team in Washington DC. As the Cagewash Technician II you will be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, maintaining, and repairing all animal caging materials and cagewash facilities/equipment as required.

Additional Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Review, comprehend and comply with all SOP's and quality assurance standards
  • Oversee daily work assignments of cagewash staff
  • Conduct trouble shooting on the equipment and report any problems
  • Communicate directly with the manufacturers on problems with the equipment
  • Provide mentorship and training to less experienced staff, either as re-training, group training or new hire training
  • Perform general housekeeping and adhere to safety procedure
  • Sanitize, maintain, and repair caging materials as well as the cagewash facilities
  • Maintain facility equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance on cagewash and autoclaves, including routine inspection of cleaning filters and roto-arms
  • Assist with the receipt, stocking and maintenance of supply inventories
  • Prepare and submit required written records, charts, logs and inventories
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • A minimum of 9 months’ successful performance in Cagewash facility operations preferred

The hourly range for this position is $19-$20/hour. The schedule is M-F 7AM-3:30PM. You may be required to work some weekends and holidays if needed.
