Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Cagewash Technician I to perform cagewash, sanitation, and equipment maintenance within the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources (DLAR). Responsibilities include processing soiled cages, sterilizing and preparing clean caging, and maintaining accurate logs.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work weekends/holidays. Applicants must pass background checks and vaccinations as required by DLAR/EHS;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Process soiled animal caging and prepare clean caging and equipment.
• Operate and validate cagewash equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on caging systems and related equipment.
• Perform custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning.
• Receive deliveries and organize stock and supply stations.
• Maintain logs of sanitation activities and equipment function.
