Qualifications

• Two years of cage wash or related facility sanitation experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and train staff.
• Experience with SOPs, chemical safety, and PPE practices.
• AALAS certification (ALAT or higher) preferred but not required.
• Must pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Daily staffing, shift assignments, workflow priorities, and coverage to meet requirements.
• Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and technical guidance to Cage Wash Technicians; reinforce SOPs and safety.
• Serve as acting supervisor during absence or as assigned.
• Coordinate collection, transport, washing, sanitizing, and distribution of cages and equipment.
• Operate and inspect washers, autoclaves, and other facility equipment; monitor cycles and report malfunctions.
• Inspect cleaned equipment and areas for quality and compliance; document corrective actions.
• Ensure timely cleaning and sanitization of care areas and facilities.
• Monitor inventories of PPE, detergents, and supplies; communicate replenishment needs.
• Complete sanitation schedules and training records; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Promote safe chemical handling and disposal; ensure SDS compliance.
• Coordinate with animal care and support personnel; participate in inspections and corrective actions.
• Perform hands-on cage wash duties as needed.
